April had its ups and downs. Early in the month the red fishing was on fire as the water warmed up and the schooling fish became more active. I had multiple days with 15 plus reds and quite a number of fish on the fly rod. As the fish started to break out of the schools and move into the grass their behavior became a bit more erratic however. Though still catching fish, it seemed that we had to move around a lot to what became a slow pick. As the waters have continued to warm, there have been a fair number of cobia in the river, some of which have topped 40 plus pounds. We were out sight fishing last week and took one out of a pair on the surface. In the offshore, the wahoo bite has been strong all month long and fair numbers of dolphin have been showing up as well. On a trip early in April we caught four wahoo up to 45 pounds. Check out this picture from that trip and until next time catch em up! Charlie
