 1. Try using ON-OFF to remove rust stains and bottom discoloration. 

 

 2. After every day on the water it is important to meticulously rinse your tackle with fresh water and periodically soap the rods and reels from top to bottom.

Unless your boat has anti-fouling bottom paint you should leave it in the water for no more than one week to prevent barnacle growth.

 

Before each and every day of fishing I check the line, leader, and knots on my reels for nicks, frays and ware. Even minor ware is cause to cut the line back to new and re-tie.

Boat: This is a good time of year to apply a fresh coat of wax to all smooth fiberglass and metal to protect your boats finish from the summer sun.

March tackle: During the colder months when I fish less I try to get into the fly tying room and stock up on all of the flies that I may need for the upcoming season.  

 

March boat: Though you may not be using your boat during the winter it is good to run your motor at least once a month to prevent varnish build-up.Â
